Segmentation of data depends on the industry regulations that the cloud is trying to address. For instance, when high-level government security is involved, the cloud is usually composed of physically separated resources deployed in a segmented compartment within the provider’s data centers. Others may just connect to the same environment and have sessions logically segmented. This is another vital component for community clouds that focus on accessing common applications and services. These are usually clouds that different departments of the same organization use.

Security and Compliance
One of the key differences between cloud and “traditional” (or in-house) infrastructure is the scope of user control as the roles and responsibility over cloud resources are segregated between the CSP and CSU (Pearson, 2013; Jansen and Grance, 2011). In Figure 1, we adopted the cloud stack architecture from Buyya et al. (2013) and the scope of control from Jansen and Grance (2011) to explain the control scope between the CSP and CSU, for each stack of the cloud architecture. The systems will be subject to all the compliance regulations to which each of the member organizations is subject. So, your organization may be subject to regulations with which you have little familiarity.
Clouds use processors with different architectures, different configurations of cache, memory, and secondary storage, support different operating systems, and use different hypervisors. Now, a workload can migrate pros and cons of cloud deployment models from one server to another server in the same data center or among data centers of the same CSP.
